NCLEX-PN
Developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) is an abnormal development of the hip joint ranging from dysplasia (shallow acetabulum) to subluxation to complete dislocation. Risk factors: female sex (4:1), firstborn, breech presentation, positive family history, oligohydramnios, swaddling with legs extended. NCLEX-PN tests assessment maneuvers, Pavlik harness care, and spica cast care. Run a 60-second scan: breathing work and oxygenation, perfusion and end organs, neuro baseline, likely infection sources, and devices that can fail quietly. When two answers feel partly right, pick the one that reduces imminent harm and matches orders for the role you were given. Train yourself to state the primary risk in one short phrase before you read the options so incorrect options do not rewrite your priority list.
