NCLEX-RN
Osteoarthritis questions are easiest when the nurse links the symptom pattern to the patient’s function. The usual picture is a gradual, atraumatic, mechanically provoked joint problem; the usual first response is to preserve movement and self-management, not to treat an image. The safety pivot is just as important: fever, marked warmth, rapid swelling, severe pain at rest, unexplained weight loss, or a new neurological deficit is not routine OA. This lesson follows that sequence—recognize the pattern, check for a break, support function, use analgesics safely, and reassess response.
