It is characterised by a progressive loss of dopaminergic neurons that transforms a normally fluid motor system into one that is stiff, slow and tremulous. For the RN, the bedside challenge is to translate that pathophysiology into timely medication administration, vigilant monitoring for motor and non‑motor complications, and rapid escalation when red‑flag signs appear.
