NCLEX-RN
Fracture care has two linked aims: give damaged bone enough alignment and stability to form new bone, while protecting the blood flow, nerves, and skin around it. The swelling that is expected after injury can become dangerous when a cast or splint leaves too little room for expansion. At the bedside, the trend in pain and distal neurovascular findings matters more than the device's appearance. Immobilization is successful only while the limb remains perfused, sensate, and usable within prescribed restrictions.
