ATI TEAS Version 7 · admissions prep
ATI TEAS practice test prep by section
Practise the four TEAS 7 content areas separately first, remediate the concepts you miss, then move into mixed and timed practice. That gives you more information than repeatedly taking full tests without fixing the underlying gap.
ATI TEAS 7 format at a glance
ATI publishes a total of 170 questions with 209 minutes of testing time. The four sections are timed separately, so strong preparation includes both content mastery and section-specific pacing.
| Section | Questions | Time | Main focus |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reading | 45 total questions | 55 minutes | Key ideas, structure, evidence, and integrating information |
| Mathematics | 38 total questions | 57 minutes | Numbers, algebra, measurement, and data |
| Science | 50 total questions | 60 minutes | A&P, biology, chemistry, and scientific reasoning |
| English & Language Usage | 37 total questions | 37 minutes | Standard English, language knowledge, and written expression |
How to use TEAS practice questions effectively
- Diagnose by section. Start with small Reading, Math, Science, and English sets so one strong area does not hide a weak one.
- Remediate before retesting. Review the concept behind each miss, not just the correct option.
- Repeat with new questions. Improvement should transfer to unseen items instead of reflecting memory for the previous set.
- Add timing after accuracy improves. Then practise completing each section inside its published time limit.
- Finish with mixed practice. Use full or mixed sessions to practise switching between content domains and sustaining concentration.
TEAS Science: build the foundation before the speed
ATI's Science section includes human anatomy and physiology, biology, chemistry, and scientific reasoning. If science is your weakest area, use concept lessons before adding more timed questions.
TEAS Math: practise the process, not shortcuts
Build reliable methods for fractions, decimals, percentages, ratios, proportions, algebra, measurement, and data interpretation. When you miss a calculation, identify whether the error was setup, arithmetic, unit conversion, or interpretation so your remediation matches the actual problem.
Review mathematics foundations before returning to timed practice if the same error type repeats.
Reading and English: accuracy comes before speed
For Reading, practise finding the claim, supporting evidence, structure, purpose, and relationship between sources. For English and Language Usage, focus on grammar, conventions, vocabulary in context, and clear written expression.
